Well, with the druidic mindset (and memories of Jaheira) and all, I’m inclined to include:
Minor Sin – not complaining about being in a city, any time you are in a city (at least 1/day)
Minor – disparaging the beauty of Mutha Oith as she currently is.
Major – willingly setting up residence in any civilized area larger than a town/village.
Mortal – willingly defacing and/or destroying a significant ‘natural’ feature of Mutha Oith.
Followers would have a great reverence for Oith, craphole that it can be, and see this age as not some fallen day but as the newest and most wonderful evolution of the world. Fields of fungus would be just as natural and sacred as pools of radioactive glowing goo.12/16/2014 at 2:20 pm #47583
Such a religion is hinted at, but never specifically detailed. I welcome your suggestions. It would fit in nicely in the Holy Crap section of The Whole Hole Suppository of Knowledge.12/18/2014 at 7:50 am #47586
Elizabeth, it sounds like a very cool idea for a oithling religon. Who is most likely to follow it (any race in particular) and have you come up sith a sweet catchy name for it yet?12/18/2014 at 5:06 pm #47589
Not yet, just general musings.
Been playing a lot of Worms (http://www.gog.com/game/worms_2) and it makes me think of some kind of outbreak of open war over the Cheese Fields.12/19/2014 at 8:07 am #47590
Oh man, I haven’t seen Worms in a long time. It was like the sillier version of Scorched Earth. Awesome.
Who would you engage in the war, would it be racial, class based, Socio-economic, maybe a thinly veiled criticism of the world today? Or sometimes a Horc beating you with a club with a nail in it is just a Horc beating you with a club with a nail in it.12/19/2014 at 10:14 am #47591
I always thought of it like Lemmings with guns. Especially the first one.
Class-based probably would be a thinly-vieled criticism of the first-world today. 😆 All the lowly peed-ons that were lead by some massive consortium to mine the fields finally have enough and rebel or something. Possibly with major boss-fights of Bottomliner holyrollers and the like.12/19/2014 at 10:53 am #47592
Bottomliners do make good antagonists.12/22/2014 at 4:01 pm #47626
I’ve also considered using the Sci-Fi Companion with LL.
Sorry, I’m all over the place. 😛12/22/2014 at 4:15 pm #47628
That sounds like a pretty cool idea.12/22/2014 at 5:47 pm #47632
Nothing wrong with being all over the place @ all, I mean have you read some of the other threads?12/22/2014 at 6:53 pm #47633
Not many of them no.
Good to know however.

Would this be within one solar system? How would you set this up?
General GMing question, when you start a campaign do you have the players make their characters together using a group template?12/31/2014 at 12:27 pm #47671
Perhaps the Oith system, to see how the other worlds fared. Especially whatever the equivalent of Barsoom is.
In terms of making characters: I rarely have more than 2 players these days, so it’s hard to say if there’s much of a general trend. Tend to just do as needed case by case.12/31/2014 at 2:11 pm #47672
well we will have a roll20 game going next thursday, it is a chance to play with more, interesting people.12/31/2014 at 7:07 pm #47673
Never used anything like a group template, but I do make the group get together and work out plausible reasons for them to be in the heap.
Of course with Living Low it will be a crap shoot.12/31/2014 at 9:56 pm #47674
I’ve considered making a character for roll20, but I’ve been the GM for so long that I’m actually kind of intimidated by the prospect of making my own character.01/01/2015 at 9:53 am #47675
Trust me! You have NOTHING to worry about in this crowd!01/01/2015 at 10:00 am #47676
Oh, it’s not the people I’m nervous about. It’s just the prospect of making my own character is actually somewhat imposing after about 21 years of almost-always being the GM/ST/DM/whatever.01/01/2015 at 12:56 pm #47678
Hmm, maybe a Bodul Holy-Roller or something. Hoomanitarianism, or more likely one of the minor faiths.01/01/2015 at 3:51 pm #47679
Sounds cool. We will be playing next Thursday night around 5:00 Eastern Standard Time. Let me know if you are interested and we will send you an invite.
