Thom, cause this is very loosely based on measurement, remember when I wasn’t 250 clams behind you, and 2,000 seemed like a reasonable goal to achieve by CotC. Ah, those were the days. If I remember correctly there was even a time about 1,000 clams ago that I was the top Oithling. Good times

Just bringing it up cause that is what old kogers do on slow days, when it seems like nothin in movin. This definitely feels like one of those days.

Like time is slower as CotC gets closer.

It also helps to think of happier times when work is stressing you the hell out.

While “Yort” is funny and theme-rich it’s not a good idea for a game’s terminology. In general, trying to implement non-ubiquitous units of measure in a game is an exercise in frustration.

For flavour text it’s fine to use something like yorts but for anything where players are required to make a mechanical judgment call based on a unit of measure it’s unwise to use a made-up unit. Measure distances in feet and yards, measure time in seconds in hours, measure weight in pounds, etc. Also, just assume seven-day weeks with the days-of-the-week that everyone knows. It’s just less confusing that way.

I like the Numenera approach, which kinda moves away from table topping. It deals with distances in terms of Immediate, Short, and Long.

On the table top (Savage Worlds) luckily the only yorts that matter are the 1″ squares which are about 5′. It should be easy for everyone if they only refer to the square as a yort.
