My name is Joe, and I’m from the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA. Currently I work full time as a pension analyst while doing school full time on the side for graphic design.
I got into gaming when I was in either Middle or High School. I know that my first proper pen ‘n paper game was AD&D, but my love was White Wolf. I’d actually been into White Wolf ever since Rage the card game came out. I got into the fiction for Werewolf the Apocalypse, and even aspired to be a writer for White Wolf when I was wee. (I remember applying for a position at White Wolf as a writer, and they even humored me with an application despite it being painfully obvious I was way too young.)
My love is White Wolf’s World of Darkness, whether Old or New. That said, I’ve branched out and played in a variety of different systems, like various editions of D&D, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Palladium games (After the Bomb, Rifts, and Beyond the Supernatural), and such. I started getting into the Indie RPG swing of things with Numenera and the Strange, and recently got turned onto Savage Worlds and GURPS thanks to Happy Jacks. I was exploring Savage Worlds settings when I stumbled across Low Life and absolutely loved the humor and illustrations. The setting – I’m a sucker for settings, whether WoD, WoW, or what have you – is excellent.
Mostly I read RPG books and tinker with mechanics since I don’t have a proper troupe of my own yet. I’m hoping to resolve that in the nearby future!
